Except for the prize for the best band, a jury distributed prizes for best performance, best singer, best bassist etc. Nutmeg- the winner of -99 The hardrock band Nutmeg won the first prize and except for the honour they will be allowed to spend three evenings in a studio with sound technicians. The band consists of a singer/guitarist, a pianist and a drummer. The boys have played together for 2-3 years. Nutmeg also got the prize for best pianist and for best drummer. The boys write their own material and they think that their future looks bright and they say that it is very important to have a message in the music. Successful weekend We spoke to two people who have been involved in the contest and they said that the contest was good, but the localities could have been better. We asked them why there wasn't as many bands this year as last year and they thought that it was because many people have moved and it is also because of decreased intrest. We also asked him why there were so few girls in the contest and they said that there aren't many girl bands in Örnsköldsvik. They also thought that many girls didn't dare to challenge all the boy bands. The music was varying, from soul and folk music to hard-core. Many talented musicians played in the music house and the event attracted many music interested people. Although there were less band this year it was a successful weekend.
