WARNING: this article is particularly indicated for the ones that can’t live without watching sports on TV (but it’s good for the others, too).

Leafing through the pages of the TV-magazines everyone can see as the greatest part of them regards sportive events, and especially football matches. My criticism regards mainly football as it’s the most important and the most played sport in Italy, like in England I suppose, while I would like to know if a symptom like this, can be found for hockey in Sweden.

At the beginning of this season (on September) all the newspapers started to title "global football" or "football at 360 degrees" or others titles with the same meanings, both to make an advertising campaign for the big number of matches broadcast on television, and to ask themselves if people can stand an "attack" of football like this. This question is very important because emphasises how the mass media are afraid from the " football earthquake " that could become a big flop.

The first consequence of this trouble was that people who liked football not too much, now hate it. What can it do to the other people?

Everyday, in Italy, it’s possible to watch a match on TV choosing among first and second division, European cup, foreigner leagues, friendly matches, etc., and so all the tv-vieuwers have to watch at least the results!

I’m very fond of football and I follow quite all the competitions, both Italian and foreigners, but I think it’s from a little time that it’s not so enjoying like few years ago. On the contrary of the voice of my heart, I think football is loosing its main characteristic: it’s a game! I read an article on a newspaper where the journalist said it was only few years ago and in Italy there was a particular background on Sunday: during the day there was the fascination of Italian league, while now Sunday has no meaning because it’s not the central day for the football fans.

Another problem that is arasing around the world of football is about the money. Lots of important players earns too much money and for this reason football is a sport that is getting worse and worse because moneys make it false and not sportive.

These are only some thoughts written by me, some of them are also reported on Italian sport newspapers. I read some criticism about football, and I would like to know from Freeway readers which are their thoughts about this matter, and if the situation is different or similart in your country. Write on my e-mail.
