The sports development

Once upon a time sport were just a game

In earlier days you had to work beside the sport. Today is sport a fulltime job with big pays. The stadiums have changed from people having to stand to these days with seats. The females are beginning to get more to say about their situation in the world of sport. How is it going to be in the future?

In the beginning of the twentieth century most athletics were both working and sporting. The reason why they were working was that they didn't get any money for their sporting.

Money has changed the meaning of sport

Gunnar Hägg was a famous Swedish runner who was disqualified because he got a small amount of money. Today it is the other way round. The people who have reached the top and stay there make A LOT OF MONEY. For example: Peter Forsberg (who plays in the NHL)

Money gives influence

A game which has been there through the times is soccer. From being a game sport it has been a long way, these days it's a serious sport. Sport has always had a big audience. It has been a chance to meet friends and family. The stadiums used to be quite big because the audience were standing. Today there are big stadiums with mostly seats. It’s a status symbol to have a big and advanced stadium. The more advanced it is the more money you seem to have and the more money you make.

Female situation

Women have always been outside the sport system. They have been fighting to be a part of it. Today females have fought themselves to a position in sport that reminds of the male position in the middle of the century. The female sport has developed during the same time as the females have been permitted to say what they want. Women became formally equal with the men in 1921, but everybody knows that still there isn't equality in the world of sport.

Future

The future in the world of sport is uncertain to prophesy of. But we are going to mention some speculations and some common thoughts about the subject. · Will women ever get similar results as men? Will the interest in female sport rise and bring bigger inquiries of sponsors etc?
· If gene research may be used in practice, would we be able to make the perfect athletic in the future. Fantasy or fact year 2100?
· The rewards for the professionals are already large. Is there any wage limit? If there is, how much?
· All people know that sport is a practical thing, but are we going to develop sports where we use our brains?
