The UK club scene

The UK is world famous for it’s night club scene with leading clubs such as Cream and The ministry of sound. Some of the UK DJ’s have also become world famous due to the large scene. In my opinion the club scene is so large over here because it’s become so commercialised with clubs like The Ministry owning their own record label and releasing numbers of compilation albums. I would go as far to say that the U.K. has the biggest club scene in Europe.

The only place in the world that comes close to the amount of clubs would be somewhere like Ibiza. The reason for the scene being so large is that most of the young population of the U.K. like nothing better than to go out on a Friday or Saturday night dancing and drinking until they drop. I can’t think of a country that really compares to the club scene of the U.K. The clubs are so popular here that they even put on their own festivals some times. For example cream puts on creamfields. The scene has never been as large as it is now, you can get magazines to do with the club scene to name just a few Ministry Magazine, Mixmag and D.J. In the U.K there are clubs that play Hip hop to Jazz to hard house to jungle.

I would please like some one on the freeway site to tell me about the club scene of their country or any particular night life goings on as I am interested in knowing if the other European countries have a similar kind of night life to the U.K. There have even been films that have been made about the U.K.s club scene. Just one of these is a film called Human traffic which takes you through the lives of some regular clubers and their lives.

The only explanation I can give for the U.K. club scene becoming so big is through the fact that that’s what the British public like to do at night and because the U.K. has been influenced by the U.S. club scene and has now changed it into it’s own huge scene. Further influences have come from the Acid house era where people found illegal raves such good fun that the illegal raves began to be replaced by night clubs.

To get an idea of how large the U.K. club scene is there is usually a night club in any town or city within the U.K.. Some cities boasting more than 30 night clubs.
