The Cross Border Project - History

The idea to produce a cross-border newspaper for schools on the Internet came up when the headmaster of Instituto Tecnico Statale Commersiale Mosè Bianchi together with the governor of the province of Milano visited Parkskolan in August 1996. This study visit was paid within the cooperation between the province of Milano and the province of Västernorrland - "The Regions of Europe".

Parkskolan applied for money and was granted 28 000 SEK from The Swedish Institute for 4 persons to visit INSTITUTO TECHNICO STATALE COMMERCIALE E PER GEOMETRI. "MOSE' BIANCHI" in Monza. On the 22 - 25 of January 1997 the meeting was held there between the three partnerschools - the Italian school INSTITUTO TECHNICO STATALE COMMERCIALE E PER GEOMETRI. "MOSE' BIANCHI" in Monza, the British Bishop Heber High School in Malpas, Cheshire and the Swedish Parkskolan in Örnsköldsvik.

The negotiations resulted in the agreement of A CROSS BORDER NEWSPAPER FOR SCHOOLS - FREEWAY.
